It's truly wonderful to hear about the rest of the 33 1/3 series and the fact that they aren't just sterile, procedural science journals that happen to be about music! Thank you! -- I can't imagine a more passionless, obtuse and banal vision of a world wherein someone looks at one of the greatest modern rock records of all time simply strips it of all its mystique and turns it into a game of numbers and tone.

music, for me, has always been about the spirit that rests behind the rhythm, the ghost inside the sound. Radiohead has always been a band who manages to create enormous analog mansions with their music, and then to continually haunt and embody what it means to LIVE in that house through the phantoms and ephemera they leave within it.

never have i seen a book more expertly miss the point.
